After Freiburg, the south of England and Barcelona, Cologne was actually just supposed to be another stop for Denise before she wanted to return to her home in Hamburg.

At least that was her plan over ten years ago – and now she’s still there. Even if you can’t get the love of the Elbe harbour out of her and the Rhine is just a little river for any true Hamburg girl, Denise has meanwhile put down roots and feels right at home in her Cologne.

More precisely, in the traditional Nippes district, where she invites you to join her!

THE NORTH OF COLOGNE

The traditional Nippes, Agnesveedel and Eigelstein districts are still unexplored territory for tourists.

Hardly any visitors stray north of the cathedral, while the Belgian Quarter, Ehrenfeld and Südstadt are listed as must-sees in every travel guide.

Maybe that shouldn’t change, because that way the Veedel remain as beautiful and familiar as they are. But you’re welcome to drop by…
